In 1987 Cornelis Vreeswijk died of liver cancer in his second home country of Sweden. In the Netherlands we only know him from Veronica and (of course) De Nozem En De Non. In Sweden, however, he was a celebrity, which is why Swedish-based journalist Peter Verschoor thought that fifteen years after his death, it was time for a fitting tribute. The result is this 'Hommage' which consists of two CDs.
On the first disc (title: Lay Twijgen Op Mijn Graf) Vreeswijk's compositions are performed by, among others, Maarten van Roozendaal, Jack Spijkerman, Erik van Muiswinkel, Bram Vermeulen and Bob Fosko. The second part is called Is Er Nog Ruim ... (For A Man With A Guitar?) And contains unique acoustic recordings by Vreeswijk himself. (MvP)more
