Jae-Hyuck Cho saw almost no organs in his native South Korea. In the concert hall in Seoul he could only admire the instrument from a distance. Only as a piano student in New York did he gradually gain access to the study organ of the training institute. On the CD, Jae-Hyuck Cho plays the organ of La Madeleine in Paris, following illustrious colleagues such as , , and . Highlights of the program
… are the two masterly works by Liszt: the Fantasy and fugue about BACH (S.260 / ii) and the Fantasy and fugue about the chorale Ad nos, ad salutarem undam. The first mentioned work is a dizzying kaleidoscope around the tones BACH (according to the Dutch name: Bes-ACB). The second work is in fact a full organ symphony, based on a theme from the opera Le prophète by Meyerbeer. The well-known Toccatas by Bach and Widor do not really come as a surprise.
